Your Questions, Answered

  • penHUN is a gallery and studio working at the intersection of art and functional design. We produce pieces that carry emotional presence and are built to live alongside you — not observed from a distance, but used, felt, and kept.

  • A gallery asks you to look. Most brands ask you to buy. penHUN does something different. Every piece is a limited edition work that lives in your space with presence, intention, and a story underneath. Not art you observe from a distance. Not objects that forget to mean something. Both, at once. That is what we do.

  • It means the work isn't made to be observed from a distance. A credenza holds things. A surface is touched. The art is in the object, in the finish, the proportion, the intention behind it, and it enters your life through use, not display alone.

  • Orders are placed through our website at penhungallery.com. Select the piece, confirm specifications, and proceed through checkout. Every piece is built to order — exact delivery timelines will be confirmed at checkout.

  • We accept Credit Card, PayPal, and ShopPay. Payment is processed at the time of order placement.

  • Returns are accepted exclusively in cases of fulfillment error on our part. penHUN pieces are hand-crafted, limited edition works. Subjective dissatisfaction does not constitute grounds for return. If your piece arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us immediately with photographs and your order number. We will resolve it fully at our expense.

  • Eligible returns are limited to errors attributable to penHUN — wrong item shipped, material discrepancy from confirmed specifications, significant dimensional variance, or incorrect artwork. Variation in wood grain, subtle tonal shifts in veneer, and minor hand-finishing characteristics are inherent to the process, not defects.

  • Yes. Custom finishes and dimensions are available on select pieces. Contact us with the piece you have in mind, the modification you are considering, and your timeline. We will confirm feasibility, adjusted pricing if applicable, and lead time. Custom orders typically fall within 4–8 weeks and follow the same material and finishing standards as all penHUN work.

  • Each collection starts from a different emotional premise. Materials may overlap, but the proportions, surface treatments, and compositional logic respond to that premise. 32's is internal. Lola is expressive. MOOABI is tender. Hugo & Cleo is dual. The differences are felt before they are seen.

  • Our pieces use premium hand-finished Alder surfacing over a high-stability Birch plywood core. Exterior surfaces receive a premium veneer coating, typically walnut, chosen for warmth, grain character, and durability. All functional hardware is soft-close, selected to be felt in use, not seen.

  • It means the final surface of each piece is completed by hand rather than by automated process. This includes sanding, sealing, and veneer treatment. Hand-finishing allows for subtle responsiveness to the grain and ensures each piece carries slight, intentional variation.

  • Each piece is inspected before it leaves the studio. We verify material integrity, dimensional accuracy, finish consistency, and hardware function. The piece that arrives should be the piece that left.

  • White Glove is our highest-tier delivery service. It includes specialized packaging, careful transit handling, and in-home delivery with placement. White Glove is mandatory for all pieces priced at $4,000 or above, or weighing 100 lbs or more.

  • Each piece is packed to withstand transit, corner protection, surface wrapping, and rigid outer crating where required. The protocol is calibrated to the piece's size, weight, and surface vulnerability.

  • Yes, and that is expected. Natural wood and veneer finishes shift subtly in tone over time. Walnut, in particular, develops a richer warmth with age. This is a feature of the material, not a flaw.

  • Use a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, abrasive materials, and silicone-based polishes. Always wipe in the direction of the grain. Keep pieces away from direct sustained sunlight, heat sources, and rooms with extreme humidity variation. Stable indoor environments are ideal.
