Our pieces use premium hand-finished Alder surfacing over a high-stability Birch plywood core. Exterior surfaces receive a premium veneer coating, typically walnut, chosen for warmth, grain character, and durability. All functional hardware is soft-close, selected to be felt in use, not seen.

It means the final surface of each piece is completed by hand rather than by automated process. This includes sanding, sealing, and veneer treatment. Hand-finishing allows for subtle responsiveness to the grain and ensures each piece carries slight, intentional variation.

Yes, and that is expected. Natural wood and veneer finishes shift subtly in tone over time. Walnut, in particular, develops a richer warmth with age. This is a feature of the material, not a flaw.
